About this place
The upper-tier tendon brings together more than shrimp: lotus root, burdock, shishito pepper and sweet potato offer a variety of textures and flavours in one bowl. The menu version comes with shrimp 2 pieces, fish and vegetables, plus a mini salad. It’s a satisfying choice when you want to savour the rice, too, soaked with tempura dipping sauce.
Set meals are another option if you’d prefer tempura as part of a broader meal. On the listed menu, the Sakura set, with shrimp 1 pieces, fish, kakiage and 3 kinds of vegetables, costs ¥1,100; the upper-tier set, with shrimp 2 pieces, fish, kakiage, 3 kinds of vegetables and a mini salad, costs ¥1,500. Other meal sets come with rice, miso soup, a small side dish and pickles. Lunch choices also include ginger pork, katsu curry and grilled fish. You can choose a tempura-centred meal or a more substantial set, depending on the occasion.
Tempura soba and udon are also on the menu, offering a different way to enjoy tempura from a rice bowl or set meal. Beer and sake are listed as well, making it possible to pair a drink with small plates at dinner. Some diners have reported waiting a while for their food after ordering, so allow a little extra time rather than relying on a quick lunch.
